4.5 Star review for Surrender to Fate by Jacelyn Rye

My 4.5 Star Review

Definition of Fate: Noun
: a power that is believed to control what happens in the future
: the things that will happen to a person or thing : the future that someone or something will have

Fate has a funny of way if knocking you off track when you least expect it. This holds true for Sarah and Will. Remember these words... Me Ware Wo

“Someday, Sarah. My commitment to you is that someday, I want you to be mine, and I will do everything in my power to make you happy.”

Sarah and Will grew up together in a small town in Colorado, they were best friends  but as they grew older their friendship blossomed into something more. They found that once in a lifetime one and only true love. Soul shattering love.  Love that makes others envious, jealous and sometimes even desperate.

Spending as much time together as possible they begin to explore their new found feelings. They make a promise to each other.  “Me Ware Wo”

“Will, surely you must know that I would. There is not one thing on this Earth that I would choose to have, if it meant that I didn’t have you. In fact, I’ll tell you right now. I only want one thing. And that is to watch each sunset, with you.”

Like all great things in life, their happiness is short lived.  Sarah’s father drops a bomb on them and she learns that her family is moving to California. Both Sarah and Will are devastated.
They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder but when fate throws unexpected obstacles in your path. Your mind starts to wonder, your heart starts to falter, especially when the temptation is laid out on a silver platter. With guilt, desire and uncertainty in your way the path to follow your heart gets lost. When tragedy strikes both, their long distance love will be put to the ultimate test.
Jacelyn Rae has a stellar debut. I was hooked from the first paragraph. To be able to experience that feeling of falling in the for the first time, not just love but soul mate love, it was amazing.  Seeing that the story takes place back in the late 1930’s. I loved the innocence of that time period. The simplicity, that life had to offer, although not easy but still simple, less materialistic.

Will is such a gentleman. You can feel the love he has for Sarah just by the way he looks at her. The promises he makes to her, how can you not swoon over him?
Then there is Sarah, so innocent, beautiful and smart. Her love for Will is what we all dream to have one day. She adores him with every fiber of her being. It broke my heart to see their future knocked off track.
*Insert Drama Here*

There is Margaret, a red headed devil who wants what she clearly can’t have.  She is the rich bitch of the area. She has definitely made my top book bitch list. *EVILSPAWN* Will made his promise to Sarah and Margaret does everything she can to make him forget. Ugh, I wanted to reach through my kindle and just knock her out! YUCK! To be fair, I admit, she does bring some good, evil dynamic to the story but still, it doesn’t mean I have to like her.  *Kudos to you Jacelyn for creating such a great bitchy character*

Then you have Adley. He is gorgeous and smart. He wants Sarah. He is a nice guy but has some insecurity’s. Sarah is so home sick and misses Will so much, she is vulnerable and unsure of her future and of Will. Adley becomes an unexpected surprise in her life. She is attracted to him and he is so different from Will. He makes her feel things she has never felt before, and that scares her.  *Insert love triangle here* She begins to question if what she had with Will was just a childhood crush or a young love that just isn’t meant to be.

Both Will and Sarah begin to realize that trying to stay together just isn’t in the cards for them. Especially when so many things are keeping them apart.
When accidents happen, one is lost and the other is trying find what was lost but fate isn’t going to make it easy for them, no way no how! *Insert the angst here*

Jacelyn did a fantastic job of bringing in that innocent romance, the sexiness, heartache (so much heartache) and angst. I felt every emotion. Did I mention that she leaves you hanging? Sooo yea, you are left hanging in a good way but left there dangling, thinking.. No, No, No!. What are they doing? They CAN’T DO THAT!!! NOOOOOOO!

I look forward to seeing where FATE will lead Will and Sarah in book 2!
This is such a heartfelt, beautiful love story. A must read!!
A fantastic job done by Jacelyn Rye. She is definitely an author to keep your eye on!
