Kaptivating 4 star review for Katie Ashley's The Pairing (The Proposal #3)

Title: THE PAIRING
Author: KATIE ASHLEY
Published: Feb. 18, 2014

A Companion Novel to The Proposition and The Proposal

After her former boyfriend left her pregnant and alone, Megan McKenzie swore off men. She spent the last eighteen months focused solely on her son, Mason, along with finishing nursing school at the top of her class. Although she’s not ready to complicate her life with a long-term relationship, a nice no-strings attached hook-up is just what she needs. At her godson, Noah’s, baptism, she finds the perfect candidate in the soft-spoken godfather, Pesh Nadeen. After all, the widower could use a good time too. But after drinking too much, the night doesn’t end the way she thought it would. Forced to leave Pesh’s house through a walk of shame, Megan hopes to never, ever see him again.

For Pesh Nadeen, the very sight of Megan sends him into an emotional tailspin. Since she reminds him too much of what he has lost, he wants to be out of her sight…at first. But the more he gets to know her, there's something about the diminutive blonde that causes his protective side to go into overdrive, and he finds himself wanting more. When Megan is assigned to work in his ER to complete her nursing clinicals, he sees it as fate, but she’s having no part of it. She only wants a physical relationship while he wants far more.

What happens next is a sexy game of cat and mouse to see who will break first or if both of them will eventually get more than they ever bargained for.

My thoughts....
I loved Pesh from the Proposal. He immediately captured my heart and in this book even more so. Pesh is the epitome of refined sexy. He is so smart, GORGEOUS, sweet and proper but when his dirty side comes out.. HOLY PANTY MELTER! SERIOUSLY, who doesn’t love a HOT doctor with a small hero’s complex. He is honestly THAT GOOD! He is a hot commodity but can’t seem to move on from the death of his wife that is until Megan comes into his life. She brings out feelings in him that he thought would never surface again. He is enamored with her but he learns quickly that she isn’t looking for forever.

Megan has been burned too many times before by falling for the hot athletes. As a single mom and a nursing student, she doesn’t have time for relationships or the emotions that come with them.  Only looking for a physical hook up, she knows that Pesh is too sweet to suite her needs. He seems to want forever and she only wants right now.

Suddenly forced to work together, Megan and Pesh grow closer and so does their attraction for one another. Megan feels that she isn’t good enough for Pesh and Pesh does all he can to prove to her that she is and even more.

Megan is a firecracker. She is a young single mother who has worked her tail off to make a better life for her and her son. She is smart, witty, sexy and doesn’t take crap from nobody. She calls it like it is. She and Pesh are like night and day or so she thinks. But we all know that saying... Opposites attract and the attraction and sexual tension between these two ... is HEART STOPPING..

Katie Ashley continues to create such fantastic characters that you instantly fall in love with. Having old friends tied into this story made it that much better. All I have to say is Aidan and Emma!

This story was fantastic. It was about learning to let go, knowing it is ok to move on. Being able to believe in yourself and understanding what it take to just listen and follow your heart.

Another successful addition to an already WONDERFUL series.
