Hunter Wilder does not want a girlfriend—that would complicate his life way too much right now. He especially doesn’t want this girl, Miss-Goody-Two-Shoes, so how come he can’t keep his eyes off her? He tries to keep her at arms length, but fate seems to keep pushing them together. Before long, it’s obvious to everyone they’re crushing on each other.

My 4 Star Review for CRUSH

Every single one of us has had a crush. Our main character Cami is definitely included! She is the smart, beautiful, goodie too shoes who hangs out with the biggest nerd, who loves his plaid, Clay. They are best friends and have been since Kindergarten. Cami doesn't care at all what the other kids think and Clay is VERY protective of his BFF. Hunter is new to the school but has quickly earned the bad boy reputation. He is known to be a bit of a ladies man and he likes to partake in a bit of recreational drug use. Cami has a secret crush on him but refuses to give and it doesn't help that her BFF told her to stay away from Hunter. Staying away wasn't in the cards for Cami and because of her clumsiness in class, Hunter is asked to help her clean up and when that is done, he picks her as his partner for a classroom assignment. They get to talking and Cami realizes that she is a goner. They have this instant attraction and I mean sizzling hot and very intense! Cami is hesitant because of Hunter's recreational drug use, she has seen firsthand the deadly results of drugs and wants nothing to do with that scene. Hunter on the other hand isn't looking for a relationship, he has a lot going on at home and doesn't need the distraction of a female but he just can't help himself when it comes to Cami. He wants to get close to her and to trust her and for her to trust him but it is complicated...
Clay cleary loathes Hunter and warns Hunter to stay away. Poor Cami is put in the middle of their dislike for each other.. While new relationships are forming, old ones begin to change and secrets are revealed...
Without spoiling anything, I was able to sort things out right away and I was still able to enjoy the story. It had me on edge the entire time, does he, does she, will they, won't they, is she really that blind? A Definite ride worth taking!

Smitten by Lacey Weatherford
Book 2 - Crush Series

Life is good. Cami is away at her dream college with her dream man by her side. She thinks if she can just get through with meeting Hunter’s family that everything will be perfect. Little does she know that life’s about to turn upside down again when Hunter is called to infiltrate a gang whose specialty is chopping and racing cars. His contact happens to be a beautiful curvy girl who is the gang leader’s sister and he has to pose as her boyfriend. Communication with Cami is basically forbidden to help keep his cover.

Hunter, however, can’t stand being away from the girl he really loves, and he sneaks away one night to meet her across town. He doesn’t know the gang leader, Ripper, has suspicions about him already and he’s following him to see where he goes. He surprises Hunter and Cami, and Hunter quickly introduces her as his foster sister who is having some car trouble. He thinks all is well until he discovers he has one serious problem. Ripper likes Cami and decides to pursue her, drawing her into the same dangerous world he’s supposed to bring down.

Can he keep his cover without having Cami get caught in the crossfire? Will the two of them survive having to watch each other fake it in the arms of another? Or will their hot stolen kisses destroy everything?

My 4.5 Star Review for LOVE

“I love you, Dylan,” She whispered before pressing her lips to mine. “Thank you for loving me back.”
“I couldn’t breathe without you,” I said against her skin, wondering if she really knew she was my whole world. Then I set out to show her.

Dylan and Cami finally get their happy ever after. Although Dylan isn’t undercover anymore his new job as a firefighter is still dangerous none the less. Picking up a little before Smitten left off, Dylan and Cami are getting ready for the next chapter in their lives..... Parenthood.

My gaze drifted to Cami’s rounded belly and I thought of the child growing there, our baby, our son, made out of the love between us. I’d never realized how easy it would be to love someone I’d never even met; and I loved this little boy, plain and simple. Life truly was a miracle and something I’d never take for granted.

While adjusting to her growing belly, Cami is exhausted, preparing for the baby, taking care of a new puppy and writing her music. When things start to get a little weird, Cami believes it is her pregnancy hormones that are causing her forgetfulness but those good ol’ police instincts in Dylan tell him otherwise.
“Someone was in the house with me,” I finished for him, my voice weak and soft. He nodded confirming my conclusion.
“I didn’t want to tell you. I know you haven’t felt the greatest with your pregnancy and I didn’t want to worry you with this. And I don’t want you to be afraid to be in our home; but it won’t be our home anymore if I can’t ensure that you’re safe in it.”
“But who would do this? And why?”

When the incidents turn violent, Dylan and Cami find themselves in a fight for their lives. They are forced into hiding. Cami does her best to remain strong while Dylan stops at nothing to find out who is behind it all. When things take a turn for the worst, Dylan and Cami’s relationship is put to the ultimate test.

“Cami, honey. I’m so sorry I didn’t protect you well enough. Please, I beg you, don’t leave me. Give me another chance.” The knot was back in my throat and my tears fell onto the bed. “I can’t live without you.” The only reply was the beep and sound of the machines she was attached to, but I didn’t care.

This is one of my favorite series. This book had it all! Love and I mean the full on blissed out love, happiness, excitement, suspense, loss and violence.
Have the tissues handy because Lacey serves up heart ache after heart ache on a silver platter. My heart broke over and over again. I mean jawdroppingheartbreakingagony. I admit, I was cursing the author a time or two. Oh and did I mention that tissues are needed?  They say god only gives you what you can handle... Well Dylan and Cami are pretty much super heroes in my book!

“I love you, Goody,” I whispered. “And on my life, I swear, no one will ever tough you, again.”

Through it all Dylan and Cami fight tooth and nail for what they want. The support they get from their family and friend and especially Russ, Dylan’s best friend.. OMG RUSS, I fell in love with him and his dedication. He is such a wonderful character and a great friend that anyone to be honored and blessed to have in their lives.  (I am really hoping that he gets a story or even a nice novella *Hint Hint* Mrs. Weatherford)

I highly recommend this series. A wonderful read. Lacey did a fantastic job.
